    Why not show how/why you changed the motor/propeller mount position from the original that was never going to work coming straight out the back of the boat without stepping the hull for water to flow to the propeller or lowering the mounting point like you did? It would have been a good lesson in how water flow under a boat hull works and also a good way to show not all builds go perfectly as planned and how you as many other builders have to correct mistakes. Sorry but I hate it when a builder that posts videos make a MAJOR change in design and don’t show how or why they made it and just think nobody will notice it’s bad ethics and not good teaching. Great build though!

    Great job! I could see the prop was way too high on the first position. That's a planing hull so water comes clean off the bottom panels, making the prop ventilate . Lowering the prop helped but was still too high to get the hull up on plane

    The Scott Boiler with its hanging water tube loops and coiled superheater is a thing of steam beauty. Lots of fiddly welds but this guy would be fine.

    very good project. the steam turbine is paramount ! But the hull have to be improved . Bigger, lighter. A catamaran with two floaters, maybe is a better choice.

    Great video and I love all the different angles and shots you took. When you were mounting the boiler, You could tell that was going to be top heavy and tippy. Just a thought for future steam projects, you will want a pressure relief valve on that boiler. When these things explode, they are deadly. You can make one with a steel ball bearing, a spring, and a fitting with a hole through and a seat for the ball bearing to seal against. The end of the fitting has a set screw to keep the spring and ball seated but the set screw needs a hole drilled through to allow pressure to escape. You can play with the surface area of the sealing seat and spring rate to increase/decrease pressure limit. You can also test with shop air pressure and a gauge. Congrats on a very cool build, I hope you dove down and recovered it!

    i think your prop was setup wrong to high in the water to close to the hull . 2 boats to low in the water, c anybody who knows boats knows dont go our bubbles they pop you drop.. point 4 that was obviously going to happen

    a longer propeller shaft or change the end of the hull to have a more hydrodynamic propensity to flow the liquid. try to lower the center of gravity by placing the boiler on the bottom of the boat

    Really cool design! Love it. Steam designs like this can be pretty torquey, perhaps a more aggressive prop would do better?
