Tell me you did not use plain cheap mild steel for this? If that is the case, you made it extremely weak and flimsy. Either use high strength steel or don't make it at all.

@Проккуев Александр Если искать везде , даже в словах , тайный смысл , то конечно лучше на диване сидеть . А если стремиться к знаниям то можно горы сдвинуть . Что же тут такого дорогого ? Баллон с аргоном 7 тыр , горелка 5 , аппарат 40 . Один сантиметр сварочного шва , в зависимости от региона от 100 до 400 рублей . Аргон сваривает все металлы . Конечно имеются тонкости , но всё решаемо .

I'm sorry I don't mean to be crass but I saw the first vice build and now this one... and a bunch of 3/8" plate steel welded together is not "extreme." You may notice that no high end vices are made this way... there's a reason. I mean if you just want it to look cool and beefy on the outside, I suppose you've done that.

Stupid idiot. It's not always about force, but size of the vice. Many times you need big jaws, but not much "power". And if you want it very powerful - there are presses.

I think a different cylinder would make this a real viable tool. It's cool but I question the structural integrity and physical clamping force of this cylinder as being effective.

@qazwsx edc Hey FRfree tough guy. You either did not read what I said or did not comprehend it. I said I believe if it had a larger cylinder that it would be a real capable and viable tool. That is to say it may work as intended in it's current configuration. But it is not nearly as useful of al tool as it could be in my opinion.

P.S. P. S. To the know it all's....take note of the equipment in this guy's shop! Obviously he knows how to run it. Now, do you honestly think he is an amateur? Maybe he should have titled the video Massive Electric Clamp because obviously that is exactly what he had in mind when he decided to build this apparatus. If it had a hydraulic cylinder it would've been a weak press. With a square threaded rod it would've been a serious vise but not remotely operated which is the initial purpose of the damn thing.

Seems to me that some people are confusing the purpose of a vise with that of a press. I welcome a remote control vise that frees my hands up to hold an object till it is clamped.
